Lucky is a youth-founded fundraising organization that provides nutritional meal plans and positivity to encourage children battling cancer to maintain healthy eating habits.
We focus on creating a positive message, fun packaging, and a specialized food selection that includes the dietary needs and restrictions for kids, ages 5 to 12, undergoing cancer treatment. Through fundraising and donations, we are able to deliver a Lucky Lunch Box, consisting of healthy snacks and a lunch meal, uplifting cards/messages, a diet tracking form, a fun game of the week, a stuffed animal, and a colorful lunch box. Creating a positive and enjoyable experience for a child while eating is our first priority, as it can help encourage them to eat when cancer and its treatment make it especially difficult. Join us in bringing a smile and a meal to a cancer patient in need!
OUR STORY
Lucky Lunches was founded by 17-year-old Leighton Turner in hopes of bringing joy and nutrition to children fighting cancer. When Leighton was 8 years old, her father was diagnosed with a Pleomorphic Liposarcoma. As a child, it had a large impact on her life, but she didn’t fully understand cancer and its challenges. Throughout the years, Leighton has developed an interest in both medicine and nutrition and wanted to combine the two in a meaningful way to help others. Inspired by her experience with her father’s diagnosis, Leighton realized how difficult it must be for children diagnosed with cancer to comprehend what they are going through. Lucky was started to provide nutritious meals to children with cancer, and to help them through their treatment with positivity, hope, and endless support.
Lucky’s founder, volunteers, and supporters are dedicated to helping children battling cancer stay strong, healthy, and hopeful.
